Tyler Murree

Tyler received his training from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Since graduating, in the spring of 2002, he has been based in Toronto though he has been performing professionally across North America since 1999.

In Toronto Tyler was recently featured prominently in the world premiere production of The Lord of the Rings: The Musical; the North American premiere of Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage and Aladdin: The Magical Family Musical (featuring former WWE Champion Brett "The Hitman" Hart).

In 2005, Tyler worked with Disney Creative Entertainment and originated the role of one of Disney’s most charming villains, Franco DiFortunato in the Alan Zachery/Michael Weiner musical Twice Charmed: An Original Twist On The Cinderella Story. His voice is featured on the Original Cast Recording available at Disney theme parks and many Disney stores. You can hear a sample by clicking the link on the multimedia page.

In the summer of 2009, Tyler joined the North American touring company of Disney’s The Lion King as the loveable meerkat, Timon. For 13 months he zig-zagged the continent, from Alaska to Texas, Boston to San Diego.

Other recent credits include: Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol; Friar Laurence in Romeo & Juliet; Snug/Philostrate in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival); Amiens/Martext/LeBeau in As You Like It and Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew (Theatre By The Bay).

Though prominently a stage performer, Tyler has appeared in the Canadian mini-series H20 II: The Trojan Horse (written by and starring Paul Gross) as a CIA Analyst working closely with the American President. He’s also lent his voice to the animated series Totally Spies. His comedic skills are displayed in over a dozen radio and television commercials.
